Working under the supervision of the Golden Gate Awards manager and the programming coordinator, learn how the San Francisco International Film Festival’s awards process operates by assisting in the development of the Festival’s primary competitive section. Learn more about the Golden Gate Awards.
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet and work with the many people in the Bay Area’s media community while getting your foot in the door of one of the most successful film festivals in the world. Starting each fall, when our call for entries campaign begins, we begin a cycle of ever-increasing activity that culminates in the Festival. We are looking for energetic, detail-oriented individuals to help us with this process who are able to multitask and exhibit consistent follow-through, who have great communication and organizational skills and can work under time constraints with grace and a sense of humor.
Requirements
Participate in the organization and administration of the Golden Gate Awards, one of the most respected and unique documentary and short film/video competitions in the world. Activities include processing entries, data entry, helping with mailings and shipping of videotapes, interacting with Festival screeners and jurors, maintaining programming databases, organizing tape library, answering general phone and email inquiries plus miscellaneous projects.
Skills
Energetic, committed, flexible, detail-oriented person with good organizational and communication skills. Macintosh experience — including Microsoft Word — required. Experience with FileMaker Pro a plus. Knowledge of languages other than English is helpful.

Hours
Minimum of eight hours a week beginning mid-September.
