Web Producer

The San Francisco Film Society needs a Web producer to facilitate the creating and maintaining of its Web sites, including sffs.org, history.sffs.org, sf360.org and the site for the San Francisco International Film Festival.

A basic fluency in all aspects of site development is required. The producer should have experience making and working from site maps. He or she should be able to create project task lists and timelines and to lead meetings and meet deadlines. Must have experience with development, concept, focus, schedule, feature set, coordination, documentation, maintenance and quality of a Web site. In addition, some technical skills are required.

The Web producer will have the following responsibilities:
- Posting, maintaining and modifying content
- Diagnosing problems
- Assisting with QA
- Building RSS and MRSS feeds
- Adding material to media players and databases
- Updating pages in Miva Merchant
- Tracking stats
- Creating forms

Ideally, the Web producer will have:
- An excellent understanding of Web publishing standards
- Knowledge of basic usability and user experience concepts
- Experience with HTML, CSS, ASP, PHP, RSS, XML and JavaScript
- Basic SQL (MySQL) skills and experience with database-driven Web sites
- Very good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

This job requires working in the Film Society office in the Presidio of San Francsico. Actual length of time and number of hours per week negotiable.
