San Francisco Film Society and ComcastSF have joined forces to produce SF360 Movie Scene, the only television show devoted to showcasing the variety and excitement of the San Francisco Bay Area independent film community and scene. Each month Movie Scene features filmmaker guests, the latest news about local film festivals, discussions of repertory programs, art-house films and much more. SF360 Movie Scene, hosted by Rod Armstrong of the Film Society and Cheryl Eddy of the San Francisco Bay Guardian, premiered in February 2007 on ComcastSF-Channel 11. A new SF360 Movie Scene premieres on the first Monday of each month and is rebroadcast the following Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday on ComcastSF-Channel 11 and Bay Area-wide on Comcast's Hometown Network.
In the August 2008 edition, hosts Rod Armstrong and Cheryl Eddy talk with Don Nasser, president of Central California Theatres, about his family’s history with the the Castro Theatre. Cindy Mortensen, manager of the Stanford Theatre Foundation, describes how the renovations the theater has made over the last ten years have affected its programming. And Peaches Christ talks about how her Midnight Mass shows at Landmark’s Bridge Theatre mix film screenings with live participation. Premieres Monday, August 4 at 8:00 pm on Comcast 11 in San Francisco. Check TV listings for rebroadcasts in the Bay Area.
